Apr 2nd to 4th - Yuma

Apr 2nd – Fri – Yuma
We went to WalMart for groceries this morning and came right back to put everything away. By this time, Charlie & Julie finished up some chores and could join us for a trip to the swap meet where I was looking for a specific pot to use in the microwave. A lot of the vendors have closed including 2 who had the pot I wanted.
We all stopped at an RV dealer and checked out anything remotely interesting.
Charlie & Julie had us and Al & Chris(tine) over for dinner. Charlie had put out their awning and sun/wind screen so even though it was breezy we were able to eat outside and enjoy Charlie’s buddy burner.

Apr 3rd – Sat – Yuma
Charlie & Julie stopped by for a chat this morning and we decided to go to Lute’s Casino for lunch. Lute’s is not a casino but a restaurant which we have been to several times but it was a first visit for C&J. I love their chicken/cheese/Ortega chile quesadilla and enjoyed it once again.
We browsed through a wonderful gift-y shop and then made a stop at Big Lots – again for a specific item which they did not have.
There was a lot of afternoon left when we got back and Terry wanted to do something so we went to the Quechan casino. This time it was Terry’s turn to win some money and stop the bleeding.

Apr 4th – HAPPY EASTER
We figured correctly that there wouldn’t be many users at the laundry this morning and were able to get it done easily. Our site is close to the office complex so we could come back to the rig rather than waiting in the laundry room.
Before & during doing laundry, I put together a bean casserole for dinner and used up some overripe bananas in coffee cake which I shared with Charlie & Julie. The rest of the afternoon was pretty lazy.
Dinner was a park potluck with the park providing baked ham and everyone bringing other dishes. We went to the hall about 3:45. As we were choosing a table and beginning to set out our plates, everything started shaking with an EARTHQUAKE. There was also a metallic rattling in the ceiling and it took non-Californians a few seconds to realize what was happening. We all headed outside and watched water splash out of the pool with the waves created by the movement which was a rolling motion of the ground rather than a shaking. It is really hard to say how long it went on but it had to be over a minute and was very disorienting for some people. Of course there were a couple of minor aftershocks but not enough for us to leave the building.
Good dinner, fun people at our table and non-stop conversation. It was still warm so after dinner, Terry & I put on our suits and went to the pool and hot tub.
