Apr 23rd to 25th - to Spokane

Apr 23rd – Mon - Pendleton
I forgot to mention before I posted the blog that we had a large lightning & thunder display just as we were eating dinner last night.
We puttered around doing some things on the computer and then had breakfast before walking to the casino. The machines were much more friendly this morning (and early afternoon!) so we were a few $ ahead when we quit at 2:30. We were surprised how much it had warmed up when we were in the casino.
I decided to make an early dinner so Terry put out a couple of chairs in the shade so we could sit & have a drink while dinner was cooking. By the time dinner was ready, the sun had moved around so we had to sit behind our neighbor’s motor home for shade while we ate.
We headed back to the casino – at least we were getting a little exercise! – and Terry finally got lucky and covered our allowances for today and part of yesterday. It helped that I wanted to get back to watch DWTS and he couldn’t (possibly) lose his winnings.
We had a huge storm late this evening – lightning, thunder, rain & wind. We were using the antenna to get DWTS and the last part was pretty broken up due to interference as the storm moved through.

Apr 24th – Tues – to Spokane
We had a few raindrops when we left this morning but then it was clear & sunny for the 240 mile drive to Bill & Georgia’s in Spokane. I spent about an hour of the trip talking to Marg so it went by faster than usual.
We set up in our usual “reserved” site in Bill & Georgia’s spacious back yard. Terry & Bill went to an RV parts store to find a gasket for the freezer door in their 5th wheel and then came back and fashioned a fix when the only solution was to buy a new door for nearly $200. I thoroughly enjoyed helping Georgia clean up some flower beds.
Georgia made dinner for us and then we taught them how to play Ponytail Canasta. After 2 hands it was time to watch the results show of DWTS and then to bed.

Apr 25th – Wed – HAPPY BIRTHDAY, brother DOUG!
Terry got up early and went golfing with Bill & his friend Vern. They play 9 holes and are usually the first ones on the small course so they were back shortly after 9 – just before my load of laundry was ready to hang on the line.
We left to run errands – pick up mail, renew licenses for the truck & 5th wheel, visit Costco for items not available – or more expensive – elsewhere, order tires for the truck, stop at the bank to switch to a credit card with better features and, last but not least, pick up a Sour Cream Lemon pie for dessert. All this and we were back around 1. We keep thinking that we are forgetting other things that need to be done.
We puttered away the rest of the afternoon and Georgia made dinner again for us. Then we got out the cards and finished the canasta game – which the women won by a very small amount.
It started to rain after dinner and the forecast is for more rain for a few days.
