May 26th to June 2nd - ID, Canada

May 26th – Mon
We had coffee and played computer games until Larry asked if we wanted to go to breakfast.  They took us to a restaurant in nearby Athol (say that name out loud several times!) and it turned out to be really good.  As we were leaving, Julie ran into her sister Joyce and husband Mel and their daughter Terri.
Everyone was taking it easy so Terry helped Terry with his motor home step and a battery problem in his boat.  Too bad Terry M. wasn’t watching when he stood up and connected with the motor home slide with his forehead – hard head so not too much damage.  We took a walk around town which doesn’t take too much time!  Everyone gathered for snacks & drinks before dinner which was mostly prepared on the big BBQ again.
Kevin & Melanie were setting Tena up on face book so everyone was on their phones finding friends and responding to requests.  We had another lovely fire to end a great day.

May 27th – Tues
We dumped the tanks, loaded the bike and hugged everyone goodbye.  Did I ever mention that I hate goodbyes?!
The weather was lovely and we had an easy drive to Oroville where we crossed the border.  We actually headed south back to I90, through Spokane and up Hwy 2 as, according to the GPS, it was only a few miles longer and a much easier drive.
We decided to stay overnight at Gallager Lake RV where we have stayed before.  It was very empty & quiet so we enjoyed a walk by the lake and a couple of drinks outside in the sun before dinner.

May 28th – Wed
We had a short drive to Summerland this morning.  We backed into Aunt Jessie’s driveway, took out the bike & set up.  Then Jessie made us a late breakfast as we had notified her that we would be there in time for breakfast.
We had a nice relaxing time catching up with Jessie, watering the garden and going for a walk.  We often have little jobs to help Jessie but this time all we did was turn the mattress on her bed! Terry loves Jessie’s cabbage rolls so she had things thawing to make a batch.  We had a great dinner and watched TV before hitting the sack.

May 29th – Thurs
I started a load of laundry before we had breakfast with Jessie.  Then we all went to Westbank for a little shopping.  WalMart, lunch, liquor store and Canadian Tire.  By the time we got back to Summerland it was time for a visit to Dairy Queen and then we browsed through the Dollar Store.  We made a quick stop at a grocery store before heading home.
Terry bought a cable so we hooked up the TV in our bedroom to our satellite receiver – can’t be without 2 TVs!  I finished the laundry and Terry tightened Jessie’s clothes line.
Similar evening to yesterday – dinner, TV, phone call to Marg.

May 30th – Fri
After breakfast with Jessie, we loaded up and headed to Vernon – another short drive.  We were hoping to see Ernie & Dianne in Kelowna while we were here but they had to make a sudden trip to Calgary to help their daughter-in-law.
We stayed at the Silver Star RV Park as it is easy to get to and close to the casino!  Speaking of the casino, once we set up that is where we headed.  I actually won a bit of money!  We had a late lunch there and then took the bike to see friends Terry & Judy.  They were setting up for a garage sale tomorrow but they were happy to take a break and visit with us.
TV, dinner & computer games filled up the evening.

May 31st – Sat
We had coffee & toast and went back to Terry & Judy’s where many homes in the adult community were having garage sales.  There were cars & people everywhere when we arrived about 8:30.  Two other couples brought their stuff to sell at Terry & Judy’s so we chatted with them a bit before we set off to “shop”.
We bought a couple of items that we didn’t want to carry all over so we returned to stow them in the bike and carried on.  The development is on small hills and the roads are winding with some dead ends.  We walked & shopped for a long time in perfect weather – sunny but not too hot.
When we got back to Terry & Judy’s, Terry M had to take a couple of the women for rides on the bike and they shopped on the way.
We left about 1 and stopped at McDonald’s for a burger before going back to the casino.  Not so lucky this time!  We sat outside for a drink and then went back to Terry & Judy’s for dinner.
After dinner, we taught them to play Newfie Bingo and Cross Cribbage.  I couldn’t believe it was after 11 when we got back.

June 1st – Sun – to 100 Mile House
We started with lovely weather for our drive and stopped in Cache Creek for a late breakfast.  As we headed north from there the weather got kind of ugly with intermittent wind & rain.  We stopped in town for fuel and arrived at sister Marg’s about 1:30.  Marg & Pat were just getting ready to leave to see Francis & Nicole so they waited until we unloaded the bike & set up and we all went.
We had a nice visit – and a drink – with Francis & Nicole.  Then we relaxed, ate, drank & played computer games – and worked a bit on the always present jigsaw puzzle.  It is kind of funny to see 4 of us with various “computers” (phones, tablets, PC) playing different games and cussing at the results.

June 2nd – Mon
Marg had to go to the dentist this morning.  Pat & I tackled the nasty job of cleaning the chicken house while Terry took apart a small fence that Marg wants to rebuild.  Terry was also the tractor driver to take away the crap – literally – that Pat & I shoveled out of the hen house.
Marg is on the board of a women’s center in town and there are issues that are involving her in the solution so she will be spending time in meetings & phone calls while we are here.  She returned just in time for lunch and then we all went to play golf.
We walked the nine hole Marmot Ridge course and were all huffing & puffing on some hills.  It was definitely warm enough to have worn short pants.  Mosquitoes showed up but not too bad.
We went to a grocery store so Marg could get ingredients for dinner and headed home.  We relaxed while pork chops marinated and dessert baked and then had a great dinner.
