Nov 13th to 15th - Mesa

Nov 13th - Fri - Mesa
We went to the Mesa Marketplace with Billy & Lauri this morning to pick up some coupons for $75 for a week at the next RV park. We stopped at the Meridian RV park to make a reservation and were taken on a little tour of the facilities. We were able to take advantage of the same special rate last April.
We returned to the Kohl’s store where we found the shoes for Billy but they did not fit. We tried a couple more stores and then decided that lunch was the next item. We had a good lunch at Applebee’s and headed home.
A bike ride and TV before a light dinner. Billy brought over a good movie for us to watch (Pelham 123).

Nov 14th - Sat - Mesa
For a while this morning we were the only users of one of the two huge, clean laundry room here at the park. To pass the time while laundry was washing & drying, we started a jigsaw puzzle at the nearby library.
Then it was time for a visit to a casino so we went to Fort McDowell casino at Fountain Hills - about 25 minutes away. For a change we did not have player cards here previously so we each got $10 in free play. Played a bit and then had some lunch. The casino actually let us play for a few hours before finally saying “enough”!! We had a few sprinkles of rain just before heading to the casino and it is much cooler.
Today was Billy & Lauri’s anniversary so we joined them for dinner at Organ Stop Pizza. They were as amazed by and enjoyed the huge pipe organ (and the pizza) as much as we did on our first visit.

Nov 15th - Sun - Mesa
Lazy morning with quite a bit of time spent on the computer trying to find a put-in spot to float the Colorado River when we get to Yuma. I had a great phone chat with cousin Pat.
Then we went with Billy & Lauri for a little shopping. We found a new set of sheets on sale (my favorite price!) at Kohl’s. Next WalMart for a few groceries and a prescription for Billy. We stopped at the “used only” swap meet on Apache Trail and wandered around there for a while - no purchases.
None of us had eaten lunch but it was too late when we returned so we just had some munchies - including some healthy veggies for a change. Lauri & I rode our bikes to the library to exchange some books.
We bought a large pork roast a few days ago so I thawed it this morning, put it in the crock pot and invited Billy & Lauri to join us for dinner. With squash and a salad from Lauri we had a good dinner. Fry’s grocery store has some great meat buys so I take advantage when I spot them and fill the freezer.
When we were having our snack, I realized that I had a rough spot on a back tooth. The entire side of an upper molar had broken out. It is not hurting now and I hope the filling stays in place until we get to Yuma and I can go to a dentist in Mexico.
Much cooler today but it is supposed to start warming up tomorrow.
