Apr 29th to May 1st - Spokane to Vernon

Apr 29th – Sun
I added bacon to Georgia’s breakfast this morning and then we went for a sightseeing drive. We went to the dam on the Spokane River in Post Falls. The water is really rushing through the channel and boiling up a long ways past the dam. There is a very pretty little park where we walked and took pictures. Then we had to stop at Dairy Queen for ice cream.
While we were finishing our ice cream, B&G’s friend Lonny called to say that his son crashed in an ORV park and asked Bill if he could pick up the motorcycle as Lonny had to take Joe to the hospital. We drove to one ORV park and discovered it was the wrong one. By this time someone else picked up the bike so we went home and walked across the street to see how Joe was. He had to stay in the hospital and have an operation to stabilize his broken pelvis.
I finally caught up my blog and the guys picked up Papa Murphy’s pizza for dinner. After dinner we played Sequence and the women barely won again.

Apr 30th – Mon – to Summerland, BC
We closed everything up and went over to have coffee with B&G and say goodbye. We were on the road just after 8 for the 250 mile drive to Summerland. We parked in Aunt Jessie’s driveway and got out a couple of chairs to sit in the sun and wait for Aunt Jessie to return from town. Just before she got back the sun disappeared and we had a few rain drops.
Aunt Jessie made cabbage rolls for dinner as Terry really likes them and she didn’t make them the last time we visited. We had a nice evening catching up and then watching DWTS.

May 1st – Tues – to Vernon
Marg mentioned that Vernon has a nice new casino so that was all it took to make us decide to take a different route north after having coffee & toast with Aunt Jessie. Unfortunately, Wanda (GPS) took us to the wrong address so I called the casino in Kamloops to get the correct address. There was not a lot of parking for RV’s so we went down the road a short ways and got a site at the Silver Star RV park.
Terry got a strange text on his phone saying our Verizon account was locked so we spent time on the computer & phone finding out that it was a scam. Yesterday morning we got a call on each of our phones saying our Global Credit Union credit card was locked and we don’t even have an account there so we were kind of spooked by the call supposedly from Verizon.
We then headed to the casino. At the first machine I played, I won $125 so I was happy. I continued doing OK while Terry did not. We had a late lunch and went back to the slots where Terry now started winning a bit. Since I was playing on “their” money, I played a nickel machine and won $308 on a bonus!! That came back with me as well as $60 with Terry which was nice for a change.
We relaxed with a drink and enjoyed a couple of cabbage rolls that Aunt Jessie sent with us.
