May 2nd to 5th - Logan Lake to 100 Mile House

May 2nd – Wed – to Logan Lake
We went to the casino this morning as Terry thought he saw an ad for breakfast. He did see an ad but it was for Friday so we gave them a bit of their money back before leaving. We packed up and left about 10:30. We stopped at a little café and had a great breakfast. We drove through Kamloops and set up in my cousin Pat’s driveway in Logan Lake. Pat & Rick took their 5th wheel to Kamloops today for some maintenance and thought they would be back about 3:30.
We went right back to Kamloops as we were very low on DEF. We fueled up, picked up a few groceries and got back just after Pat & Rick.
It is quite cold here so we stayed inside, caught up with news, had a drink and relaxed. At 5:30 we joined Don & Joanne and Lynden & Charlie at “wing night” at the pub for dinner. The guys managed to stay awake to watch Survivor when we got back and then we all crashed.

May 3rd – Thurs
We went in the house for coffee and then Pat made breakfast – love this RV park too!! We went to Rick’s Mom’s – Marie – to help her with Picasa before we all went to Kamloops. Rick picked up a step for his truck that he ordered, we stopped at a mall where Pat thought there were inexpensive Dawgs (oops, sale was over) and stopped at Costco for lunch and to look for a BBQ for Marie. Then we went to a casino. Parking was jammed at the casino downtown so we went to the little one on the north side which was not friendly at all!
When we got back, Pat did some dinner prep and then we taught them to play Ponytail Canasta. They are canasta players so it was easy for them to learn. We fit in a great dinner between 2 games of canasta and each team won one game. The guys beat us by a whole lot more than we beat them but a win is a win! We were going to watch a movie but it was too late.

May 4th – Fri
After Pat made waffles for breakfast this morning she put brownies in the oven while I brought in our laundry and got the first load going. Pat & I walked the very short way to her Mom’s – my aunt Adela – and we visited for a while. Then we finally started watching the movie (J. Edgar) that we intended to watch yesterday. We paused it to get a snack for lunch and then again to chat with Pat’s daughter Morgan and her friend Shane. We finished the movie in time for Rick to pick the grandchildren up from school. Pat & I made a quick trip to the grocery store to get some raspberries for dessert, Rick delivered the grandkids to their dad and we had a drink before going to Don & Joanne’s for dinner.
Joanne is a quilter and has some lovely pieces in her house. We had a very good dinner of baby back ribs, roasted veggies & salad. Rick & Don didn’t want to play cards so Pat, Terry, Joanne & I played a couple of games of Golf.

May 5th – Sat – to 100 Mile House
We packed up, hooked up the 5th wheel and went in to have coffee with Rick & Pat. Pat talked about making muffins but we all decided to go out for breakfast instead. We left about 10 for the just over 100 mile drive to my sister Marg’s. We stopped in town to dump our tanks and arrived at Marg’s just in time to unhook & level before lunch.
After lunch we finished setting up the rig, changed into “work” clothes and headed out to a field for our first job. Terry drove the tractor, beat down little willows with a brush cutter and brought the tractor & bucket when Marg & I needed to load sticks to dump on a burn pile. We had one smaller pile of sticks so Marg lit it to satisfy the pyromaniac in me! Marg also cut up a couple of trees for firewood. It is amazing how much better the land looks when the little willows are cut down and downed trees are cleaned up.
We quit about 5, did chores and relaxed for a bit before making dinner. Terry’s hip was bothering him so we went to bed early.
We started with snow flurries in Logan Lake, some rain as we were driving, sunshine in the afternoon and a cool, clear evening to view the large moon.
