May 10th to 12th - 100 Mile House

May 10th – Mon – 100 Mile House
Marg went fly fishing today so the rest of us – Terry, Glenda, Bill, Georgia & Dad – went sightseeing. We walked into Mahood Falls & then further to Canim Falls. It is a lovely walk through the woods with only the sound of rushing water and birds. Then we drove to Susan Lake where Marg & her friend Quille were fishing in their pontoon boats. We sat at a picnic table, watched the fisherwomen and had a snack before heading back. Unfortunately, we choose a road that was closed several miles down the line with no sign at the beginning so we had to come back to Susan Lake and take the same road out that we came in on.
It was time to do chores, have a drink and make dinner when we got back. Marg returned in time for dinner. We could have had fish for dinner – she kept 3 nice trout.

May 11th – Tues – 100 Mile House
Marg had to drive a friend to Williams Lake for a medical procedure. After breakfast, Terry, Bill, Georgia & I went for a walk. Terry took a gun and the guys shot at – and missed – a few marmots who dig big holes in the pastures. We spent some time in the shop and headed to the house for lunch when we saw that one of the lambs that was being bottle fed was clearly not well – bloated & panting. I called friends Nichole & Francis who drove here as quickly as possible but they were not able get a tube into the lamb in time to release the gas and the lamb died. I hate being a farmer sometimes!!
After lunch, Terry & I and B&G went for a drive. We had discussed going golfing but Terry is still not feeling well so he thought a drive would be better. After filling up a couple of propane tanks, we ended up going all the way to Williams Lake. We checked out the marvelous visitor center there, went to Surplus Herbie’s store and stopped for a few groceries.
Marg was home & had the chores done when we got back so we all pitched in making dinner. We watched the Vancouver Canucks lose rather badly and saw most of the DWTS results episode.

May 12th –Wed – 100 Mile House
Marg & I loaded a lamb and delivered it to the slaughter house early this morning. The lamb was born late last year so was not ready for market with the rest of them last November.
We reluctantly said good-bye to Bill & Georgia this morning – our vacation is over!
Terry, Marg & I took off to deliver Marg’s motor home for an oil change and to check prices on deck material at 3 stores. Then Marg renewed the insurance on her motor home and utility trailer before we headed home to fix lunch. Marg & I worked in the greenhouse & garden in the afternoon while the guys puttered in the shop.
Marg & I played golf with the women’s league at 5:30. They have changed to a shotgun start so there is not such a long wait for the awarding of prizes for players with an early tee time. The restaurant at the golf course is not open this year so dinner & prizes were at a restaurant in town (Casa Roma) that has great pizza. We did not win anything – and did not have very good scores!
