May 16th to 18th - 100 Mile House

May 16th – Sun – 100 Mile House
Marg helped some friends screen & bag sheep manure and then Marg, Terry & I raked up & hauled away old hay in front of the feed manger. Some of this hay was going into the compost pile so of course we had to add some sheep manure to the pile first and then add another board to the front of the box.
We made another trip to Quille’s to pick up the boat again in order to install some seats. It should have been an easy job but, like most things we get into, we kept getting sidetracked. Marg made a trip to the oil shed (for something we never did remember!) and we ended up doing some organizing in there which included taking out some wood pieces. Then we had to straighten out a wood storage area in the shop to make room for the wood from the shed! Since we were in a clean-up mode, we cut & installed a new board on the manger.
Just before dinner, Marg & I went on the 4-wheeler to fix a post on the fence. We tested the wire first and there was no current. We rode all around the property looking for a break or an unhooked gate – no luck. We ended up riding up & down fences turning off the current at different spots and finally found the electric wire wrapped around page wire which grounded it. We tightened up the electric wire and went home to make dinner. It took us an hour instead of the ½ hour that we thought originally and we didn’t get the post fixed!
It was a later night than usual as we had to watch the 3 hour finale of Survivor.

May 17th – Mon – 100 Mile House
Marg went fishing with Quille today so Terry made the legs to raise the sofa & loveseat while Dad & I drew plans and started work on a bedside table for Marg’s guest bedroom.
After lunch, we finally finished the border on another very tough jigsaw puzzle. Terry was feeling sick enough to finally agree to go to the walk-in clinic in town where he had to wait over an hour to see the doctor who diagnosed bronchitis. Then to the pharmacy to fill prescriptions.
There was only enough time before Happy Hour for Terry & I to figure out how to mount a flat screen TV in our bedroom. We were just finishing dinner when Marg got back. She caught a 3 lb trout and Quille caught a 5 pounder. They had lots of strikes but only got 2 in the boat with their barbless hooks.
DWTS on TV tonight.

May 18th – Tues – 100 Mile House
This morning, Marg & I went to complete the fence repair and get all the fences electrified so we could put the sheep on a different pasture. I got to be the “sheep caller” and the sheep actually came running for the new pasture. It helped that they had grazed the old field down to nubbins!
We puttered a bit in the shop and came in for lunch. We had convinced Terry to take it easy and work on the puzzle for the morning.
I did some cleaning in our 5th wheel while Marg & Terry worked on the boat again. The bunks on the trailer had tipped so they used the tractor (after retrieving it from the neighbors) to lift the boat & motor in order to adjust the trailer. Dad & I worked on the bedside table while Marg & Terry moved on to setting up a pulley system to lift Marg’s pontoon boat for storage in the hay barn.
We went to Francis & Nichole’s for dinner highlighted by an appetizer of asparagus with chopped hard boiled eggs & dressing, coq au vin, home-made croissants & wonderful little cookies called “cat tongues”. Friend Al was also there and his wife Cecile joined us for dessert as she was in Kamloops for the day at a tai chi workshop.
